Abstract

Die flämischen Tapisserien haben bei der künstlerischen Ausstattung der aristokratischen Schlösser und Palästen der Barockzeit eine wichtige Rolle gespielt. Der Fund des bisher unbekannten Archivmaterials im Thunischen Familienarchiv in Tetschen hat beträchtlich zu Erreichung unsere Kenntnisse der Verhältnisse dieser adeligen Familien zu den Wandteppichen. Die publizierte Korrespondenz und Kontrakt mit dem flämischen Kunsthändler Marcus Forchondt, der in Wien tätig war, dokumentiert wesentlich die Bestellung zweier Komplexe der Tapisserien, die zur Ausschmückung der Thun Palais in Prag auf der Kleinseite bestimmt waren.

Abstract (in Czech)

Tapiseriím vlámské provenience patřilo důležité postavení při výzdobě šlechtických zámků a paláců ve 2. polovině 17, a na počátku 18. století. Na základě nálezu dosud neznámých archivních pramenů v rodinném archivu Thunů v Děčíně bylo možno podstatným způsobem obohatit dosavadní povědomí o vztahu této šlechtické rodiny k podobnému typu artefaktů. Publikovaná korespondence a kontrakt s vlámským, ve Vídni působícím obchodníkem s umění Markem Forchondtem podrobně dokumentuje objednávku dvou souborů tapiserií, určených k výzdobě Thunovského paláce na Malé Straně v Praze.

Abstract (in English)

The wall-hanging, mostly of Flemish provenance, played an important role in the decoration of aristocratic seats and palaces in Central Europe in the baroque period. The discovery of hitherto unknown archival documents in the Thun family archive in Děčín has fundamentally enriched the knowledge of the attitude of this noble family toward this type of artifacts. The published correspondence with Flemish merchant Marcus Forchondt and contract document in detail the order of two sets of Flemish tapestries intended for decorations of the palace of count Maximilian Thun in the Prague Lesser town between the years 1697 and 1699.
