Abstract

Předkládaná studie se snaží objasnit události okolo vzniku a rozvoje Pedagogického semináře v období ohraničeném dvěma světovými válkami. Celá práce je založena na studiu dostupné literatury a především archívních materiálů. O dějinách meziválečného Pedagogického semináře bylo publikováno mnoho studií a článků, avšak téměř žádná práce se nevěnovala detailně budování semináře jako instituce, která vytvořila základ pro rozvoj pedagogiky jako vědy na brněnské univerzitě.

Abstract (in English)

The author focuses on the process of establishing the Department of Education at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno, and observes its development in the years between the World Wars. The book explores available publications and, above all, archival materials. The author follows the process of building up the Department as an institution that created conditions for the development of educational science at Masaryk University. He also deals with the personalities from the Department, especially with its founder and leading personality, Otokar Chlup. Further, he analyses the contributions of Jan Uher, Stanislav Velinský and Josef Dvořáček to the develop-ment of the Department of Education.
