Abstract

Tibetský text zabývající se individuální eschatologií, nazvaný Bardo thödol (Vysvobození v bardu skrze naslouchání; tzv. Tibetská kniha mrtvých, představuje mimo jiné vize sta božstev, postav tibetského buddhistického panteonu, které se dělí na pokojné a hrozivé, přičemž pokojných božstev je celkem 42 v bardu během prvních dní) a hrozivých božstev je 58 (a vyjevují se ve dnech zbývajících). Některé z hrozivých postav reprezentují božstva se zvířecími hlavami. Ve sbírkách Náprstkova muzea se nachází vzácný fragment dvanácti postav, z nichž většina je právě se zvířecími hlavami. Nelze přesně určit jejich původ, jedná se však s vysokou pravděpodobností o tibetské miniaturní malby na plátně. Příspěvek se zabývá jednak deskripcí, analýzou a kontextem zmíněných postav se zvířecími hlavami a jednak zmiňuje složitou typologii zobrazení textu Bardo thödol v thangká tzv.ch (svitkových obrazech zpravidla malovaných či tištěných na plátně) a cakli (miniaturách, tištěných i malovaných).

Abstract (in English)

Tibetan eschatological text Bardo Thedol (The Tibetan Book of the Dead), beside others represents visions of a hundred of deities or figures of the Tibetan Buddhist pantheon. The figures may be divided into peaceful and wrathful, peaceful ones being 42 (appearing in the Bardo during the first days) and wrathful ones being 58 (appearing in the following days). Some of the wrathful figures are represented by deities with animal heads. In collections of Naprstek Museum there is a fragment of 12 figures, most of which bear animal heads. Their origin cannot be precisely determined, but most probably they are Tibetan miniature paintings. The contribution deals with description, analysis and context of the figures as well as with other similar deities. It also deals with a complex typology of the depiction of text of Bardo Thedol on thangkas (scrolled pictures painted or printed on canvas) and tsakli (printed and painted miniatures).
