Spoken interaction is a cooperative process in which permanent negotiation of meaning between all participants takes place. In this process the speaker can use some signals mostly labelled discourse markers to enable the hearer(s) to arrive at an interpretation which comes as close as possible to the speaker s communicative intentions. Based on quantitative as well as qualitative analysis of texts taken from two corpora representing academic spoken discourse (LLC and MICASE), the author discusses how I mean can enhance the hearer s coherent interpretation and understanding of the message, thus contributing to discourse coherence, which is understood as a dynamic, hearer-oriented and interpretative notion. Is is a book of proceedings which has not been alotted an ISBN number.

Mluvená interakce je kooperativní proces, v němž probíhá pojednávání významu mezi všemi účastníky. V tomto procesu může mluvčí používat určité signály většinou nazývané diskurzní ukazatele, aby umožnil posluchači dospět k interpretaci, která je v souladu s kominikativním záměrem mluvčího. Na základě kvantitativní i kvalitativní analýzy textů dvou korpusů, které reprezentují akademický mluvený diskurz (LLC a MICASE), autorka zkoumá, jak může I mean podpořit koherentní interpretaci a porozumění sdělení posluchačem a současně tak podpořit ke koherenci diskurzu, kterou chápe jako dynamický pojem, který je orientován na posluchače a závislý na interpretaci. Jde o sborník, kterému nebylo přiděleno ISBN.
