Anotace

Über die Dekrete des Präsidenten der Republik wurde in den letzten Jahren viel geschrieben und die Problematik der Dekrete des Präsidenten der Republik, welche auch ungenau als "Beneš-Dekrete" bezeichnet werden, zieht die Aufmerksamkeit sowohl der Rechts- als auch der allgemeinen Historiker in der letzten Zeit auf sich. Es handelt sich um eine Frage mit historischer, politischer, moralischer und rechtlicher Dimension. Dekrete des Präsidenten der Republik - heute schon obsolete historische rechtliche Regelung - trat ins Unterbewusstsein der breiteren Öffentlichkeit vor allem im Zusammenhang mit der nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg durchgeführten Vertreibung der deutschen Bevölkerung (ursprünglich meistens tschechoslowakischer Staatsbürger deutscher Nationalität) aus der Tschechoslowakei nach Österreich und in beide Teile des nach dem Krieg geteilten Deutschland ein.

Decrees of the President of the Republic, more commonly known as the Beneš decrees, were a series of laws that were drafted by the Czechoslovak Government-in-Exile in the absence of the Czechoslovak parliament during the German occupation of Czechoslovakia in World War II and issued by President Edvard Beneš. The historical significance of the decrees are the subject of debate presently. The decrees are known for their portions that dealt with the status of ethnic Germans and Hungarians in postwar Czechoslovakia. Some historians believe that they laid the ground for the forced deportation of approximately three million Germans and Hungarians from lands held by their ancestors for centuries.
