Abstract
The lecture presented some results of the author's reserach into crime reports in the British press with focus on the victim/criminal dichotomy, which represents the tendency of modern British press to deal with events using binary oppositions, e.g. good vs. evil.

Přednáška prezentovala výsledky výzkumu autorky v oblasti zpráv o zločinu v britském tisku se zaměřením na dichotomii oběti vs. vrazi, která je příkladem tendece britského tisku prezentovat události za pomoci "binárních opozic", tj. např. dobro vs. zlo.
