Abstract |
---|
Abstract (in English) |
---|
The processes of integration and disintegration in language may be studied in both official languages and unregulated communication. While the former is represented by codified standard languages, the latter consists of spontaneous speech which is independent of the standard and develops in a natural way. Using the example of some typical features of several sociolects in Brno speech from the first half of the 20th century (particularly the sociolect known as plotna and the speech of other low social classes), the contribution documents features that these sociolects share as well as those that differentiate them. What is crucial is the change in the position of certain features of the plotnasociolect in the 1950s, which gave the sociolect an impetus for new continuity. For some time, the new sociolect, called hantec, became characteristic of a particular group of people from the Brno cultural sphere. Later, the sociolect became a symbol of the whole city, i.e., an integrating element. |
