Abstract

Už více než dvě desetiletí uplynula od začátku přechodů k demokracii v zemích střední Evropy. Dnes státy západní a střední Evropy sdílejí společný politický prostor Evropské unie. Vytváří to fascinující příležitost pro analýzu podobností a rozdílů mezi nimi. V této knize jsou s využitím konceptu stranických rodin nastíněny západoevropské strany a jejich středoevropské protějšky, což zahrnuje detailní analýzu stranických aktérů v České republice, Maďarsku, Polsku, na Slovensku a ve Slovinsku. Jednotlivé kapitoly komplexně mapují sociální demokraty, zelené, krajní levici, konzervativce, liberály nebo krajní pravici. Čtenář tak může sledovat původ, ideologii, proměny a mezinárodní vazby jednotlivých stran. Kniha původně vyšla v britském nakladatelství Ashgate.

Abstract (in English)

More than two decades have passed since the transition to democracy began in Central Europe. Today, West and Central European countries share a common political space - the European Union. This has created a fascinating opportunity for analysis of the similarities and differences between these countries. In this book, authors critically apply the party families approach to Western and Central European political parties. Special attention is paid to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia. With chapters devoted to social democrats, greens, the far right and left amongst many others, this book charts the parties origins, ideologies, and international ties. The book was originally published by Ashgate Publishing.
