Presentation of partial results of project. The research topic is driven by the interest in history of film industry, especially the history of distribution and film screening on a local level. Our goal is to describe the changes in an operation of cinemas in a Moravian metropolis Brno and behavior of local audience between 1930s and 1960s. We choose oral-history research as a key methodology of this project. Through semi-structured interviews with several dozens of employees of Brno’s cinemas (heads of cinemas, projectionists, ushers and booking-clerks) we are looking for answers how historical changes affected the film industry, in particular the regular operation of local cinemas.

Prezentace dílčích výsledků projektu. Výzkumné téma je vedeno zájmem o historii filmového průmyslu, zejména historii filmové distribuce a promítání na lokální úrovni. Naším cílem je popsat změny v provozování brněnských kin a změny v chování diváků v období 30. až 60. let. Klíčovou součástí výzkumu metoda tzv. orální historie. Prostřednictvím semi-strukturovaných rozhovorů vedených s několika desítkami zaměstnanců kin (vedoucí kina, promítači, zřízenci a pokladní) v Brně hledáme odpovědi, jak historické změny ovlivnily filmový průmysl, zejména každodenní provoz kina.
