Studie představuje analýzu hloubkových rozhovorů s matkami malých dětí za použití kategorie žánru coby analytického nástroje. Jádrem studie je tvrzení, že způsob, jakým některé matky vyprávějí o svém mateřství, lze přirovnat k žánrové formě heroického eposu.

The paper focuses on an analysis of in-depth interviews with mothers of young children. The interpretative category of genre is used as a method. The central point of the paper is a hypothesis, that the way of mothers narrating their motherhood is similar to a form of heroic epic.
