Sepse je dominující příčinou morbidity a mortality pacientů hospitalizovaných na jednotkách intenzivní péče. Dysfunkce myokardu jako součást multiorgánového selhání postihuje až 2/3 pacientů v těžké sepsi. V tomto článku je popsána charakteristika a patogenetické mechanizmy myokardiální dysfunkce v sepsi.

Sepsis is considered to be the major cause of morbidity and mortality of patients hospitalised in intensive care. Incidence of myocardial dysfunction in studies with severe sepsis patients is up to two thirds of patiens. Characteristics and patogenetic mechanisms of myocardial dysfunction in sepsis are described herein.
