Une des modalités en est le roman de colonisation qui propose une variante du reve américain, a savoir la construction d'une société neuve dans un espace encore vierge, a la marge du monde actuel. L'opposition entre le monde actuel et le projet social peut impliquer des transferts, au sein de l'univers utopique, de paradigmes identitaires. Étant une vision autre de la société, le roman de colonisation peut donc comporter des éléments d'identification tant individuelle que collective : autrement dit, elle est aussi bien une vision de soi et de l'autre et présente donc une certaine conception de l'altérité. Le texte se propose d'examiner, sous cet angle, deux romans : L'Impératrice de l'Ungava (1927) d'Alexandre Huot et Pikauba (2005) de Gérard Bouchard. ER -
