Abstract
Teaching and testing foreign languages at non-philology universities. Suggestions for Standardised Testing in compliance with the CEFR for languages. Structure of non-philology language course at Masaryk University, Faculty of Education, Brno. Structure of non-philology language examination tests. Call for closer co-operation of language teachers and examiners. Suggestion for a Standardised Language Certificate indicating the appropriate level of the student language competence (B1-C2) acknowledged throughout non-philology university departments both in the Czech Republic and at twinned universities abroad.
