TY - CONF ID - 949354 AU - Kaniok, Petr PY - 2011 TI - Why does Euroscepticism cause so many problems? KW - Euroscepticism - EU Statehood - Support for the EU integration - Theory of Democracy N2 - Being a part of academic discussion for more than 10 years, Euroscepticism (especially in connection with party politics) have not been so far adequate defined. Widely accepted definition by Taggart and Szczerbiak who has divided Euroscepticism between its “hard” and “soft” version suffers from several weaknesses as the whole conceptualization lacks counterpart of Euroscepticism – pro European attitude. Thus, almost every critique against current form of European integration is labeled as a Euroscepticism. The paper discusses current “state of art” in terms of what Euroscepticism is and how it can be defined and subsequently analyzed. ER -
