Abstract

Edition der 11 Briefen des tschechischen Bildhauers Jan Štursa an den berühmten Wiener Kunstkritiker und Propagandist der moderne Kunst, die reflektieren die Kontakte zwischen der Kritiker und Künstler. Die Korrespondenz informiert über die Umstände, wie zwei Bilder Egon Schieles (heute in der Nationalgalerie in Prag) in den Besitz des Bilderhauers gelangen.

Edice 11 dopisů zaslaných českým sochařem Janem Štursoví známému vídeňskému kritikovi a propagátorovi moderního umění Arthuru Roesslerovi, které vydávají svědectví o vztazích mezi kritikem a umělcem. Korespondence mj. informuje o dvou obrazech Egona Schieleho (dnes v Národní galerii v Praze), které se začátkem roku staly předmětem výměny mezi Štursou a malířem.

Abstract (in English)

Publication of eleven letters, written by Czech sculptor Jan Štursa to renowned Viennese art critic and promoter of modern art Arthur Roessler, which reveal a great deal about the nature of the relation that evolved between critic and artist. The correspondence relate to two paintings by Egon Schiele (now in the National Gallery in Prague), which were in early 1912 part of exchange between Štursa and painter.
