Abstract
Not only the telomeres are chromatin structures, but their maintenance is also co-regulated by the dynamics of their chromatin structure. Several reports showed that the length of telomeres in mouse is negatively influenced by DNA and histone epigenetic marks typical for heterochromatin. Here we studied the effect of hypomethylating drugs on telomere maintenance in plants, which show much higher complexity of epigenetic pathways compared to mammals.
