Abstract

V originále

The aim of the book is to provide the reader with a concise survey of the European Union legal system, explain its functioning and describe the most important areas of EU legislation. The book also describes to some extent the functioning of the US legal system with deep focus on some of its selected and rather problematic aspects. The reader thus can make a comparison between the EU and US since the development of both system has been in many aspect similar. The specific chapter I refer to is devoted to the principle of direct effect of EU law and its sources.
