The post-war settlement of the border areas is unddobtedly one of the key events in modern Czech history, as it represented the largest internal population movement in the history of the Czech Lands. More than five milion people moved in the years 1945-1947. This settlement by the Czech population occurred concurently with the resettlement by the Czech population occurred concurrently with the ŕesettlement of the German population in terms of time, space and organisation.
