Abstract
Protein engineering is a rapidly evolving discipline, with much research currently focused on understanding the catalysis, specificity, stability, and folding of proteins, structure-function relationships and protein design principles. Engineered proteins are now successfully being used in biotechnology and in therapeutic settings. Advances in technology and genetic and chemical techniques have enabled a competitive edge in developing improved protein and peptide based therapeutics with reduced immunogenicity, improved safety and greater effectiveness.
Abstract (in Czech)
Proteinove inzenyrstvi je rapidne se rozvijejici disciplinou, zamerujici se v soucasnosti k pochopeni katalyzy, specificity, stability a usporadani proteinu, strukturne-funkcnim vztahum a proteinovemu designu pouzivanemu v biotechnologiich a v terapeuticke lecbe. Pokroky v technologii a genetickych a chemickych technikach umoznili rozsireni moznosti ve vyvoji leciv zalozenych na vylepsenych proteinech a peptidech se zmensenou imunogenicitou, lepsi bezpecnosti a vetsi efektivitou.
