Abstract
Specific category within the research of attitudes are studies focusing on attitudes of teachers and other professional in education in in-service and pre-service situations. Attitudes of teachers towards students with special educational needs are one of the main factors for successful education in inclusive settings. Negative attitudes towards individuals with disabilities function as hidden barriers specifically for those, who wish to fully participate in a given society. Negative attitudes of in-service teachers are hard to change. Therefore, we need to form positive attitudes towards inclusion and towards people with disabilities in general already in pre-service teacher training. Students of three faculties of Masaryk University (Education, Science and Medicine) that had a compulsory course in special education were asked to reveal their attitudes towards people with disabilities and inclusion. We used the three component model of attitude (cognitive, affective and conative).
