Histiocytóza z Langerhansových buněk může postihnout téměř kterýkoliv orgán a tkáň. Často postihuje kůži a vytváří divergentní kožní projevy: infiltráty v anogenitální oblasti, dále infiltráty v zapářkových oblastech. Histiocytóza z Langerhansových buněk se objevuje v ochlupených částech těla, na hrudníku či v podpaží, může se objevit však na kterékoliv části povrchu lidského těla. K rozpoznání, že jde o postižení kůže histiocytózou z Langerhansových buněk, je vždy nutná histologie. Makroskopicky není možné tuto nemoc identifikovat. Kožní postižení může být izolované, anebo může být součástí multiorgánového postižení. Je důležité rozpoznat tuto vzácnou nemoc včas, dříve než způsobí těžké a nevratné poškození organismu.

Langerhans‘ cell hystiocytosis can affect basically any organ or tissue. It often afflicts the skin and causes divergent manifestations: infiltrations in the anogenital area, and also in intertriginous areas. Langerhans’ cell hystiocytosis develops in hair-covered parts of the body, on the chest or in axillas, it can, however, appear at any part of body surface. To confirm the diagnosis of Langerhans cell hystiocytosis of the skin, a histological examination must always be performed. The disease cannot be identified from the macroscopic appearance alone. The infliction of the skin can be isolated, or it can be a part of multi organ infliction. It is important to recognise this rare disease early, before it causes severe and irreversible damage.
