Kapitola uceleně popisuje dvě základní modality radioterapie - zevní radioterapii a brachyterapii a zaměřuje se i na současné moderní ozařovací techniky. Shrnuje klinické indikace radioterapie u onkologických pacientů, včetně kombinací s dalšími léčebnými metodami. Objasňuje biologický mechanismus účinků záření a poukazuje na nejčastější nežádoucí účinky léčby zářením.

Chapter describes two basic modalities of radiotherapeutic treatment - external radiotherapy and brachytherapy and focuses on the current modern radiation techniques. Summarizes the clinical indications of radiotherapy for oncology patients, including combinations with other therapeutic methods. Explains the biological mechanism of the effects of radiation and points the most common side effects of treatment of radiation.
