Abstract
This lecture introduces Bogomilism and Catharism, Christian heterodox currents identified as “dualistic”. Their history, myths, beliefs, organization, and rituals are being introduced and discussed. In the text analysis, we will work on two sources: Interrogatio Iohannis (about 1190), a Latin apocryphal apocalypse used by some of the Italian Cathars in the 13th century (probably a translation from an Eastern original), and the Summa de catharis et leonistis seu pauperibus de Lugduno by the former Cathar, then inquisitor, Rainerius Sacconi (Italy, 1250).
