This study discusses the efforts of certain Czech composers to create community songs (Alois Hába, Karel Reiner, Josef Stanislav, Ervin Schulhoff). The immediate impetus for this activity was the first International Olympiad of Revolutionary Theatre, which took place in 1933 in Moscow.
