Abstract
This paper is concerned with a comparison of all regions in the Czech Republic with respect to support of research and development from European Union. Operational Programme Research and Development for Innovations, which represents the greatest source of public funds for improvement of research and innovative potential of the Czech Republic, is the subject of our interest. Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness and other financial instruments that allow drawing of financial aid are subjects of the interest as well. Financial sources from the EU funds that are available in the Czech Republic in the Programme Period 2007-2013, provide an exceptional opportunity to improve the situation in many areas, which are more specialized in this paper.
