Abstract
Flat glass surfaces were cleaned and activated by diffuse ambient air plasma generated using the so-called Diffuse Coplanar Surface Barrier Discharge. It has been found that a short 3-sec. plasma exposure leads to hydrophilization of the glass surface and a significant increase in it's adhesion to glues and coating materials. The observed effects are illustrated also by the results of in-line plasma treatment at a standard industrial line for safety glass manufacturing.
