V originále
The paper describes the integration of practical knowledge in teaching science subjects at basic school. The new curriculum reform which was introduced in the Czech Republic is based on the necessity of integration and synthesis of knowledge of all sciences. Integrated approach in teaching at elementary schools is justified and irreplaceable, although many teachers do not use it or use it only as a supplement. We focus on some ways that lead to the implementation of an integrated approach in teaching science. We present some supporting materials for teachers in practice. Within the integration of science knowledge, the role of the supporting material, which was elaborated by teachers of science departments at Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno, is to offer to readers the opportunity to synthetic thinking during solving problems of everyday life.
