Diploma thesis presented herein covers the position of a priest
in rural community and his place in social structure of a
village. First part deals with place of the church in history
of our region and position of ordinary ministers as well. The
following section presents portraits of individual priests
which attempt, with the help of testimonies and study of
resources, to uncover their personalities and view of the
parish, but also impression of them left in the parishioners.
The closing part of the thesis aims to interpret the
information. Problems of the church in different historical and
political eras are analyzed along with the role of priests in
these periods.
The central point of the project is explanation of problems
that followed priests in the course of their ministry. Along
with that, this text proves a hypothesis that priests still
occupy a special place among the community.
