n this thesis, the student will design and implement an application which will recommend interesting Wikipedia articles for the user to read due to a lack of similar functionality within the currently available Wikipedia reader software. The thesis will contain: * Introduction to the topic of recommender systems and algorithms, description of commonly used approaches and examples of their applications within other software (e.g. social media apps) * Enumeration of libraries focused on recommending Wikipedia articles (or articles in general) and making justified informed decisions regarding their suitability for use within the scope of the developed application * Design and analysis of the application, including the targeted end users, non-functional and functional requirements and the expected use cases * Enumeration of the technologies and programming languages used, including the rationale for their selection Decisions made during the development process should be in accordance with industry best practices and general guidelines and recommendations. The code should use recognised patterns. External libraries and packages should be used where applicable to ensure further robustness and security. Code should be readable, understandable and documented where necessary.
