The aim of the presented text is to describe how flexible corporate organizations influence the working conditions of cashiers in supermarkets through the lens of ethnographic research and to examine what working conditions prevail in Czech supermarkets. The theoretical basis for this text consists of two paradigmatic approaches. On the one hand managerial, economic and organizational literature offers the conceptualization of various forms of flexible work organization in companies. On the other hand, there is critical sociological production, which examines the change in working conditions through the concept of precarization. However, it focuses on the analysis of state policies and the resulting ways of regulating or deregulating the labor market in particular. My intention is to connect both paradigms and analyze the precarization of work as a consequence of flexible organization of work in supermarketsts. These consequences are then interpreted from the employees perspective.
