The thesis focuses on developing heritage conservation practices in Czechoslovakia between 1945 and 1951, using the Lysice Chateau as an example of the first-category heritage site and so-called collection centre. The thesis examines the chateau's history after 1945, its transfer to the National Land Fund and later to the National Cultural Commission. It also explores the relocation of furniture, proposals for alternative uses of the chateau, and its opening to the public. The period represents a dynamic phase during which foundations of heritage conservation were established.
