The Bachelor´s work deals with the value of freedom of the individual. It consists of three chapters. The first part of the first chapter describes negative and positive freedom according to the philosopher Isaiah Berlin. The second part of the first chapter focuses on the per-spective of Phillip Pettit, who defined the so-called third conception of freedom , republican freedom. The second chapter discusses freedom in terms of selected types of society. It analyzes the degree of freedom in a totalitarian and legal democratic state and subsequently in a state-less, anarchocapitalist environment. The last chapter outlines the limits of freedom in today´s legal system of the Czech republic with a focus on exceptional states and the businnes environment.
