Here presented bachelor thesis describes the evolution which we can observe in the style of writing of a Belgian author of detective novels, Stanislas-André Steeman (1908-1970), from the perspective of a literary evolution of the detective genre itself, i.e. from whodunit (roman à énigme), through suspense to roman noir.
