The p53/p63/p73 signalling pathway is considered to be one of the key regulatory pathways of cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis both in normal and transformed cells. In medulloblastoma, the most common malignant brain tumor in children, the expression of p73 protein was described as a factor with as a prognostic factor. value. In this study we examined the intracellular distribution and pattern of expression of two N-terminal p73 isoforms, TAp73 and ΔNp73. We demonstrated that TAp73 isoform is was predominantly localised in the nucleus, so far whereas ΔNp73 isoform is localised either in the nucleus or in the nucleus and in the cytoplasm at the same timesimultaneously.. ΔNp73 co-localised with Golgi complex in the cytoplasm. The difference in this the distribution after treatment with all-trans retinoic acid was observed in ΔNp73, the number of cells with ΔNp73 isoform in the cytoplasm decreseddecreased after treatment. However, But it there was were also differences different among particular experiments, independently on ATRA treatment. Thus, probably, intracellular localisation of ΔNp73 is probably a complex process affected by different factors. This study was supported by grant IGA MZCR NS10218-3/2009.
