Abstract
As Cloud Computing appeared, it started influencing not only the IT industry, but also all other sectors. Thesis description
The increasing adoption of Cloud Computing nowadays is shifting the outsourcing notion from a traditional outsourcing to the cloud outsourcing. Organizations used to outsource IT services to third-party vendors through contractual agreement as an effective-cost saving strategy. The current trend is to host resources on remote cloud nodes that provide a universal access to shared resources through different solutions (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
This thesis focuses on data privacy in cloud outsourcing, mainly on controlling the risk of storing confidential data in the cloud, involving confidentiality and security issues. The student will survey existing standards, law and legislation that ensure data privacy in the cloud outsourcing, and existing technical solutions for data privacy. A comparison of technical solutions will be given in several aspects, including costs to implement and run. Lastly the student will compare at least two major cloud service providers from data privacy point of view.
