This thesis deals with the protection of patienťs rights, as
part of the protection of public health. Iťs aim is to analyze
the Czech legislation as well as adjustments in foreign
countries, of some partial rights of the patient. The paper
reacts to the changes that brought new laws regarding the
healthcare sector. The first section briefly defines the status
of the patient in the health care, and then individual rights
regarding informed consent, home birth, problems of mandatory
vaccination and institute of previously manifested desires. The
counclusion then outlined some possible solution to problem
areas.
