The aim of the pragmalinguistic master“s diploma thesis is to analyse and interpret impolite utterances used within the speeches in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. For the purpose of this thesis, impoliteness is defined as a direct or indirect face-attack that can have different sub categories. In order to understand communication situations, the characteristics of political discourse are defined. Specifics of speeches in the environment of the Chamber of Deputies are also described. The source material for the analysis was collected from records of meetings published on the website of the Chamber of Deputies.
