In my thesis I focused on the effect of the course Basics of
Social Science on the moral development of high school students
and especially on the process of teachers’ moral effects on
their students. The whole process was studied from the
teachers’ perspective. I tried to answer the question whether
the school subject Basics of Social Science can play
significant role in student’s moral development. I used
qualitative methods of content analysis and grounded theory. As
another aspect of my work, I compared the situation of Czech
teachers with the situation of Russian teachers in the
corresponding Russian subject “obshchestvoznanie”.
