The diploma thesis deals with the synthesis of bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane derivatives with different functional groups in the bridgehead position for their further application in reactions with 4,8,12-trioctyl-4,8,12-triazatriangulenium (TATA) cation that represents a platform suitable for binding of the resulting molecules to the surface. The connection of the bicyclopentane cage to the platform has been successful in the case when the ethynylene linker between the platform and the cage bridgehead was used; the direct connection of the later and the platform failed. The resulting molecules were used for formation of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on the gold surface (Au(111)). The thesis includes a review of different types of SAM and their preparation and structures in the literature part.
