French reintegration into the military structures of NATO under the presidency of Nicolas Sarkozy represents a significant qualitative shift in relations between France and the Alliance. The author of the paper presents historical context of the researched topic, identifies causes of this development, analyses the adopted reintegration steps in the framework of relevant historical events and summarises the impact of this political adjustment on the relations between the Alliance and France. An interesting part of the work constitutes the analysis of important documents and speeches of key representatives relevant to the analysed topic and their further interpretation in the context of researched period.
