Tato práce zaměřuje na irské pověsti a jejich literární převyprávění současnými irskými autory, Deirdre Sullivanovou a Brianem O’Sullivanem. Předmětem zkoumání jsou jejich knihy Savage Her Reply a Fionn: Defence of Ráth Bláthma, v pořadí. Abstract

This thesis deals with retellings of old Irish mythological tales by contemporary Irish authors, Deirdre Sullivan and Brian O’Sullivan. The subject of analysis are their novels Savage Her Reply and Fionn: Defence of Ráth Bláthma, respectively. Thesis description
This thesis aims to analyse the retellings of Irish myths in contemporary Irish literature with the main focus being on the change and evolution of these myths. The secondary aspect for analysis is the focus of the authors and what they deem important to keep or omit from their retellings.
