Diploma thesis deals with the present faith and spiritual life
mainly of children with hearing impairment. It focuses
especially on the condicions of present religious education for
children with hearing impairment mainly at at the basic schools
for hearing impaired pupils and on giving of the spiritual
values to these children. The text deals also with the
situation of persons with hearing impairment mainly in the
Catholic church. The situation in the Catholic church in the
Czech Republic is compared with the situation of this topic in
the Slovak Republic. On the basic of the result of the research
the didactic material for religious education at the basic
schools for hearing impaired pupils was created.

The theoretical part consists three chapters. The first chapter
deals with the problems of hearing impairment, the second
chapter is specialized in psychological and social development
of children with hearing impairment in connection with
Christian faith. The third charter deals with the present life
of Catholic church and the possibilities of the spiritual life
of people with hearing impairment in the world and also ind the
Czech Republic. The practical part of the tehsis contains
detail sof a case study. Case study proceeds from cooperation
with people who are qualified and active in religious education
at the basic schools for hearing impaired pupils, and with
people who devote to the spiritual service to persons with
hearing impairment.
