The thesis focuses on the legal status of the social parent in
the Czech legal system and deals with the question of what
right and obligations a social parent has. The main method used
in this thesis is an analysis of the current regulations with
the aim of reaching a clear conclusion about the legal status
of a social parent in Czech law. The author also uses a method
of comparison with foreign legal regulations to identify the
main differences. In the final part, the thesis focuses on
considera-tions de lege ferenda and how the institution of a
social parent could be incorporated into Czech law.
