The main goal of this thesis is to answer the question: "What
is the role of a government-backed employment in the process of
social integration of handicapped people?" It is based on
theoretical knowledge of labour market processes causing social
exclusion and of workplace conditions contributing to social
integration. The research was based on statistical analysis of
data collected through questionnaires and on secondary analysis
of statistical data and documents.
The core of my research was the comparison of social
integration of employees "with" and "without" health insurance
and on the labour  market policy on their employment – the
supported employment. The problem lies in the high number of
economically inactive people and the high relative extent of
their unemployment, should they wish to join the labour market.
Case study showed that this is not universally valid, as the
supported employment did not prove higher rate of their social
exclusion.
