Induced pluripotent stem cells are currently the most promising and fastest growing area of research and therapeutic applications of stem cells. One of the most important application is the modeling of human diseases for research on the pathogenesis and possible treatment. Theme of this study is to summarize information on current progress in this area with emphasis on the modeling of selected diseases of the nervous system, particularly neurodegenerative diseases.
