This thesis deals with the didactic approach to the topic of
the second stage of the Industrial revolution. The aim is to
connect the topic of the industrial revolution and the regional
monument which is Mahenovo divadlo.
The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical.
The theoretical part focuses on the stages of the industrial
revolution and cultural development. The information about
chosen theatres in Brno is also included in this chapter. The
next chapter deals with the topic curricular documents, project
method, and its advantages and disadvantages. The last chapter
of the theoretical part focuses on regional history and the
methods which are suitable for its teaching.
The practical part provides the scheme of the project done in
the 5th grade and its realization. This scheme is followed by
the scheme and the realization of the teaching of the same
topic but using the frontal method. The last chapter concludes
the finding of the pedagogical experiment. The data of the
experimental and control group are compared.
