This thesis presents the use of varied patterns of interaction
in the English language at the lower level of secondary school,
and the characteristics of teachers and learners. The most
common mentioned types of varied patterns of interaction
include pair work (open pair work when two learners work
together in front of the whole class, and closed pair work when
the whole classroom is divided into doubles working
simultaneously) and group work. The third chapter of this
thesis includes a questionnaire that consists of two sections.
The first section involves questions directed on the
description of the teachers filling in the questionnaire. The
basis of the second section is the approach of teachers through
various patterns of interaction and their use in teaching. The
questionnaire will be supported by information from two
teachers; one who uses varied patterns of interaction, and one
who does not.
