The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the influence of twelve weeks of combined training on aerobic capacity (VO2peak, VO2peak . kg-1, METpeak), performance (Wpeak, Wpeak . kg1) and the dynamics of the heart rate (HRrest, HRpeak), heart rate recovery (HRrec) and chronotropic index (ChI) in the group of women and men with type 2 diabetes (DM) and in the group of women and men withouth type 2 diabetes (NDM) with chronic ischemic heart disease. There were evaluated the differences in results between women and men with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus. In patients with type 2 DM the effect of rehabilitation training was more considerable in men compared to women, as well as in patients without type 2 DM. Women with and without DM alike achieved significant improvement in physical performance. The significant increase of HRrec was also reported in women without diabetes. Both the men with and without diabetes had comparable significant increase of all parameters of cardiorespiratory fitness and performance. Men and women without diabetes moreover achieved a statistically significant increase in HRrec in comparison with men and women with diabetes, where the increase was not significant.
