The theoretical part consists of two main chapters: an introduction to three Christian denominations in Texas, followed by an outline of the social activities of these denominations. Three denominations are chosen due to their size in Texas: the Roman Catholic church, the Baptists and the Methodists. Some research has been done, but unfortunately, the author's lack of awareness of religious terminology and concepts leads to some inconsistencies. What is more, a lot of the information is not taken from academic sources, but from websites. Chapter two lacks any kind of argumentation and is simply a list of the social activities undertaken by the abovementioned churches, often simply copied from their websites. The practical part consists of an online questionnaire which was distributed in Texas. There were 50 respondents. The methodology is well explained and the answers are clearly laid out Posudek oponenta Barbora Kulíková, učo 437531 and discussed. Unfortunately in Figure 5 some of the words are missing so it is impossible to know what is meant. The conclusion ends with a rather strange and unsubstantiated statement that money is as important as church affiliation. Questions for defence: 1. Could you explain what is meant by non-denominational? 2. In your research did you see any evidence of interdenominational activities? 3. Could you explain what you mean in the conclusion by: other factors, such as money are as important as the affiliation and need to be considered when evaluating the influence.
