The thesis is focused on the issue of further education of
workers in a home for people with disabilities in a small town
in the Hradec Králové region. This work connects theory and
research while including areas of andragogy, vocational
education, development, and education of workers in helping
professions. Marginally it introduces the topic of burnout
syndrome and supervision. It also touches on the area of
​​mental disabilities and its specifics. It mentions the
diagnoses of adults with Down syndrome and autism spectrum
disorders. The empirical part presents the intention, methods,
and goal of the research when we ask and further elaborate the
question "How is vocational education implemented in a home for
people with disabilities?". Appropriate techniques lead to
outputs bringing an interpretation of the results and allow its
application to the analysis of strengths and weaknesses.
Selected information proves that the education process is set
up sufficiently and with quality. The workers are satisfied
with the system and the frequency of education is adequate for
the given positions. On the contrary, an increase in the
training could cause a disproportionate burden on workers and
quantity would outweigh quality.
